“The Road That Brings You Home”

Poetry. 2 minutes to read.

One road takes you further

One road brings you home

But the sky is full of winter

And the roads are full of snow

Don’t let your spirits wither

I’ve been there before

We’ll get home together

That’s what maps are for

When nostalgia slows your pace

And old dreams paint your face

Let a new breeze take you to a cozy place

Don’t worry about the steps you take

All footprints are eventually erased

In the gloom of change

Lies the bloom of new days

So if you feel like you’re behind the race

Like lead has filled your shoelace

Know that everything you feel is always okay

The road that brings you home is always this way
