Austin Treat

The writing that made it to print.

Born June 2nd, 1995, Austin Treat grew up on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After receiving his diploma from Chatham High School in 2013, he enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts degree program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, studying political science, French, and comparative literature. He published his first short story, “Mask of Mano,” during his senior year, before graduating in 2017 (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).

He spent the next four years living in Boston and Los Angeles.

In 2022, he moved to southern Maine to pursue a career in teaching English and to complete a Masters of Education/Teaching Certificate Program with the University of Southern Maine.

Currently, Austin teaches high school English at Fryeburg Academy in western Maine.
